What They Needed
TD Ameritrade operates in a fast-moving and ultra-competitive environment, where only the most innovative players stay on top.
With this in mind, TD Ameritrade partnered with ExO Works, an organisation that specializes in helping businesses innovate through 10- to 12-week product innovation sprints.
ExO’s goal was to reduce TD Ameritrade’s innovation timeframe from a year to three months. This would allow the client to bring new product ideas to market faster and save them hundreds of thousands of dollars.
To get there, ExO needed to improve the way fast-track innovations were presented to TD Ameritrade’s senior management.
Over an intense five-week period, we made an account manager, a project manager, a senior designer, a senior coordinator, and a senior product specialist available to ExO. This team included specialists in product development, strategy, UX, UI, and video production. Working as a trusted partner to ExO, we helped its team accelerate the presentation production process and create vivid, articulate, and stimulating materials to put before TD Ameritrade’s senior management.
To further streamline the innovation process, we created teams that would compete internally. The aim here was to reduce ten or twelve ideas down to two or three for pitching to senior management.
We would then develop mock-ups to show how to bring those viable ideas to life.
Together with ExO, we enabled TD Ameritrade to accelerate product design and development by having the right people in place at the right time. In just five highly concentrated weeks, we provided an extensive suite of presentations, videos, and supporting materials.
